Missy

Rescue Story

Update: 08.05.2003

Missy passed through the gates of Habitat for Horses on April 27, 2003, after being donated to us by a local family. Missy has a long road ahead of her after being left in a pasture with a large number of cows for several months. After her initial cleaning and shots, she headed for the hay pile. She faces extensive dental work in the next few days along with a complete medical workup to determine the cause of weakness in her back legs.

Please check back here for updates on her progress.

Keep Our Herd Cool this Summer

Texas heat is hard on our entire herd, but especially for our seniors like Jericho here. Older equines struggle with regulating their body temperature, have trouble breathing, and can become dehydrated quickly. The cost of caring for them adds up fast — can you send a gift and help us prep for the season?
