Meet Zada

Zada is a self appointed baby donkey protector, and she took her role seriously. She wouldn’t let humans or other horses get closer than the donkeys were comfortable with when they were young. Not in a rude way, she just moved the donkeys away when she thought there had been enough interaction. Now that they’re all grown up, she’s enjoying the nanny retirement life in pasture. While she’s pretty shy with people, she’ll come up and say hi to familiar humans. She’d love a home of her own where she can be appreciated for the aloof and beautiful mare that she is. Donkeys or other horses would be fine with her!

Keep Our Herd Cool this Summer

Texas heat is hard on our entire herd, but especially for our seniors like Jericho here. Older equines struggle with regulating their body temperature, have trouble breathing, and can become dehydrated quickly. The cost of caring for them adds up fast — can you send a gift and help us prep for the season?
