Meet Roca (MT)

Although she loves people, Roca is very hard to catch. Once you do, she is a great mare who leads and ties with no difficulty. Roca is ready to be trained by a very experienced trainer. She does great in the herd and forms particular friendships with other horses. An equine sanctuary in Montana rescued about 80 horses and donkeys in January 2011 when a different local horse rescue had to close its doors. Her history prior to that is unknown. Roca is blind, and we aren’t sure if she can maybe see shadows.

Keep Our Herd Cool this Summer

Texas heat is hard on our entire herd, but especially for our seniors like Jericho here. Older equines struggle with regulating their body temperature, have trouble breathing, and can become dehydrated quickly. The cost of caring for them adds up fast — can you send a gift and help us prep for the season?
