Meet Gina

Gina is a good-looking quarter horse mare with a free spirit. She came to us pregnant and foaled Ty in 2015. She is currently in training and still catching up to her proper weight. She has come a long way since she first arrived when she was completely afraid of people. She is now able to halter in the stall and lead her around. She will pick up her feet and let you brush her, and walk up to her in the stall without jetting off. She still needs work on tying. She is not aggressive in anyway, more flighty than fighty. She has never offered to kick, bite, or rear. She needs an experienced hand to help bring her around and to let her know that it is ok to trust. If you are interested in Gina, please contact Habitat for Horses via phone or email.

Keep Our Herd Cool this Summer

Texas heat is hard on our entire herd, but especially for our seniors like Jericho here. Older equines struggle with regulating their body temperature, have trouble breathing, and can become dehydrated quickly. The cost of caring for them adds up fast — can you send a gift and help us prep for the season?
