Meet Alma

Alma is a sweet mare who came to us from a seizure. She was underweight, pregnant, and in need of some serious TLC. After receiving lotsa love and special care from the caregivers at habitat for horses, she blossomed into a beauty. She gave birth to a foal in Spring of 2015 who has since been adopted. Now it is her turn. Alma first began work with trainers in August 2015 and made quite a bit of progress, enjoying trail rides and other under saddle adventures. Unfortunately, she began to go blind. While she may still enjoy training activities with humans she trusts, she’s no longer working under saddle as she adjusts to being blind. She loads well, is great for the farrier, and has good ground manners. She does well with horses, dogs, and cats and truly seems to enjoy spending time with people. She does best with her friend Classic, so we’d really prefer they go home together as she’s understandably very nervous when she moves to new places. Her loss of sight hasn’t slowed her down too much once she’s comfortable though, so if you’re looking for a wonderful friend to spend relaxing time with, come meet sweet Alma today!
