Very cool! Art on horses to teach equine massage

News

Innovative and beautiful, the paintings on these horses are designed to help teach students learning the art of equine massage. The unborn foal is particularly beautifully done. ~ HfH

Anatomy art – Equine massage therapist Gillian Higgins paints horses’ anatomies on their coats, as part of an innovative teaching aid for students.

Massage master class – Higgins gives a lecture on the equine skeletal system. Each horse has 205 bones, making living models a helpful way to memorize them all.

Colorful colt – Horses have more than 700 muscles, and Higgins color-coordinated each one according to its action.

Inside out – This remarkable picture shows the horse’s reproductive system, including an unborn foal.

The art is done by Gillian Higgins – a Sports and Remedial Therapist for Horses and Humans. You can learn more about her by clicking here.

Keep Our Herd Cool this Summer

Texas heat is hard on our entire herd, but especially for our seniors like Jericho here. Older equines struggle with regulating their body temperature, have trouble breathing, and can become dehydrated quickly. The cost of caring for them adds up fast — can you send a gift and help us prep for the season?
