Habitat for Horses has once again joined forces with Southbound Show Management, Inc for the 3rd annual Harvest Horse Show to be held in Tyler, Texas at the Texas Rose Horse
Park, October 28 through November 1, 2009. For over eleven years, Habitat for Horses has worked to protect and secure the safety and quality of life for horses in need. Habitat
for Horses’ efforts have made them largest equine protection organization of its type in
the United States. In addition to running successful adoption, foster, sanctuary and educational outreach programs, Habitat for Horses works with law enforcement and the court system to uphold animal cruelty laws. Habitat for Horses is dedicated to promoting
and securing the safety and well being of all horses; encouraging education concerning the physical and mental health of horses; exploring and establishing connections with young adults who can benefit emotionally from their involvement with horses; promoting the proper training of horses through positive training techniques; and providing a home
for those horses who are no longer able to be productive.
This year’s Harvest Horse Show will feature “AA” rated hunters; Jumper Classics; a
Wednesday afternoon “From the Judges Perspective” open clinic; the $25,000 Harvest
Grand Prix, midday on Sunday, November 1st and our showcase event the Chronicle of the Horse/USHJA International Hunter Derby on Friday afternoon, October 30th. In addition to these exciting classes and events, we are hosting a Benefit Hunter Derby Reception, Grand Prix Brunch, daily breakfast, Saturday Exhibitor Dinner, Silent Auction, Calcutta, benefit fishing “tournament” and much more.
