Temperament: Winchester is calm but a big kid who likes to run and play! He steals water buckets, lead ropes and is always being a ham! He is a real character!

Physical problems / health issues: None.

Interaction with horses: Runs with large mixed herd.  Plays well with others.

Interaction with people: Loves people and loves treats! He is very affectionate and will lick and give you little nibbles on your back pockets in search of something yummy! Stands well for just about anything now, he will make a great partner!

History: Winchester was a stray donated by Friendswood Animal Control.  When he arrived he had the defensive nature of a horse that has had to fend for himself.  This has lessened with time and attention.  Winchester was adopted earlier this year but returned through no fault of his own.

Training / abilities: Has awesome potential for being a great horse with training. Winchester has been ground driven for some time now.  We sat on him and led him around with a rider on his back and he did fine.  He even fell asleep when stopped; he didn't mind us on him at all.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Experienced person to work with him to realize his potential.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? In play only Reared? In play only Kicked? At other horses when being fed Bitten? No Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes Lead? Yes Tie? Yes Trailer? Yes Clip? Unknown Trim Feet? Yes, but does the baby dance and leans on the farrier Bathe? Working on this

Special needs: Needs a firm but loving home to fulfill his potential.

Other comments: When Winchester first arrived he was fearful and would kick, buck, bite, and stay away from people.  He has progressed with time and patience.  He needs a person to continue to love and care for him and to let him know that he is wanted.  With continuous time, love, and patience he will blossom into a wonderful loving partner!
