Other comments:  Velvet has turned into a beautiful horse with her weight gain.  She has good ground manners and has bonded with her foster home.  Had an experienced rider come out and work with her in the round pen and after a couple of hours of working with her, she managed to get up into the saddle and walk around with her.  It took a while for Velvet to accept the saddle and we feel she may have been mistreated in this area and therefore it will take Velvet some time to build up her trust under saddle.  We do believe with proper training she can turn into a great riding horse.
