“These assessments are based on how these horses respond in their current environment and any change in their current environment, riders, diet, etc could have an effect on the horses' immediate performance. Horses need time to adjust when moved to new surroundings. We highly recommend you visit, spend time with the equines and evaluate the equine before making a decision"

Explain overall Health:  Troye is in good health and is an easy keeper.  He is still a baby, though, and still growing.  He has pink skin and does best when in during the day and out at night as he will get a sunburn.  He is thin-skinned and easily  marked up by other horses.

Explain overall socialization: Troye loves people and loves attention.  He loves to be groomed and is one of the first to come to you in the pasture.  Sometimes I think he would rather be with people than with other horses.  He is on the bottom of the pecking order and still makes the baby mouth to the other horses.  He would rather run away than fight back.

Explain manners: Troye has learned his lessons well.  He is very intelligent and learns very quickly.  He will yield to pressure.   He will lead at your side on voice command and will also back on voice command.  He will either straight tie or stand in the crossties.  He can also be led with just a rope around his neck.  He is very willing and obedient for the farrier.  When told to stand, he stands.  He has also been taught that if something scares him, he is to go up to it and touch it.  He is becoming very brave and really has not spooked at anything in quite some time.  His spook was a snort and a bowing of the body away from the object.  He will walk through water and over logs.  He will be ready to be ridden as soon as he is old enough.  I am in the process of getting him used to the bridle and saddle.  He takes everything in stride.

Explain overall training:  Please see section under ground manners.   Troye is a very intelligent horse and would make a great show horse.  He has an aptitude for cutting as he really knows how to sit back on his haunches and move his front end from side to side.  This is what he was bred for.  I have not yet exposed him to cattle but plan to do so in the near future.  His trainability and calm demeanor will make him suitable for any Western endeavor.

Explain history if known:  He came to me as I believe a yearling old stud colt.  He was totally untouchable and tried to climb out of the stall on more than one occasion.  He has done a total 180 now, and people cannot believe he is the same horse.  He will follow you around like a puppy dog.  He is so sweet, and he is absolutely striking with his blue eyes with “eye liner.”
