Temperament: Outstanding; excellent. Treasure is one great looking, solid, sound and sane horse.  Very western looking stockier type.  He's an easy keeper for a 20 year old and just does not look or act his age.  He's currently getting one scoop of senior, 2 x a day.

Physical problems / health issues: He is in good shape for a 20 year old.  No leg blemishes and appears completely sound.

Interaction with horses: Turned out with other horses (geldings) without any problems. He gets along great with others (can be low man in some situations).

Interaction with people: Quiet and easy to handle. Foster home says “He is a sweet one!”

History: We think he has spent most of his life kept in a stall.  He seems not to know what to do when turned out in a pasture.  He waits at the gate to back in to the stall where he probably feels more secure.

Training / abilities: His current foster home did an evaluation and here is the report:

He comes up readily for attention and is very polite.  He is broke, but somewhat rusty and out of shape. He won't take much time to get going at all and has kid potential. No bad habits whatsoever. He likes his pasture buddies and will get a bit antsy for a few minutes, but settles down just fine.  He saddled and girthed up like a champ, took the bridle with no problem at all. We didn't have a small enough western girth handy, so didn't ride him, but he does lunge very well. He measures in at 14.1hh (maybe a smidge more), but is quite solid, so could carry a larger rider once he's got some more balance (he's unbalanced at the trot, but that's to be expected since he's still recovering from some malnourishment and has not been conditioned at all). He still has a great build, good feet, sweet temperament, gets along with everyone, leads, loads, ties, etc. He's darn near the perfect gelding!

Experience level required to work with this horse: To be determined.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other? Always a good boy.

Ground handling: Catch? Lead? When hand walking him for several days after gelding him, he never spooked at a thing. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes, does just fine. Clip? Not yet attempted. Trim Feet? Not yet attempted. Bathe? Not yet attempted.

Special needs:

Other comments: With this personality and attitude, he will make someone a wonderful companion and friend.  We think Treasure has more than lived up to his name.  He is certainly special!
