Tango
Breed: Quarter Horse
Sex: Mare
DOB: 1985
Height: 15.1 hh
Color: Sorrel
Markings:
Location: Cocoa, FL
Adoption Fee:

Temperament: Good.  Calm and steady.   Tango can be a little cranky and does not like to be pushed.  She is not spooky.  She prefers to be left alone to eat.  She will posture and can be very protective of her food.  She appears to be terrified that it will be taken away.

Physical problems / health issues: No current issues.  Tango was very underweight and had a hoof abscess when she came into HfH care but the abscess cleared up and there have been no more problems with her hooves.  Tango is an easy keeper who is gaining weight nicely.

Interaction with horses: Tango gets along fine in a mixed herd of five horses.  She is very attached to one particular horse in the herd but has no problems with any of the others.

Interaction with people: Appears to prefer women but likes a few men that she is familiar with.  Tango is safe with children that she knows and who know their way around horses.  She is especially fond of people who bring her treats.

History: Donation.

Training / abilities: Tango is not young so she has not been ridden much in her foster home.  She has been under saddle and has had an adult female on her back as well as several children.  She would be a wonderful lead line horse or a good horse for children to learn basic horse care and grooming.  She is not particularly interested in trotting.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Beginner.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No Reared? No Kicked? Yes, sometimes has kicked when in season Bitten? No Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes Lead? Yes Tie? Yes Trailer? Yes, hopped right in during a hurricane evacuation Clip? Unknown Trim Feet? Yes Bathe? Yes

Special needs: Tango is on Red Cell to help her gain weight since she came into HfH care malnourished.  She is also on senior feed.  She could use a few more pounds on her.

Other comments:  This is a nice horse and would be a great addition to a loving family..
