Tabitha
Breed:
Grade
Sex: Mare
DOB: 1993
Height:
14 hh
Color: Bay
Markings:
Small crescent, left
rear sock
Location:
Bastrop, TX Adoption Fee:
$100
Temperament:
Tabitha came to me very
distrustful of humans,
and she still suffers
from a lack of trust.
She didn’t want to be
touched, but is now
allowing people to touch
her and catch her when
she is eating. She is
coming around, slowly.
Physical problems /
health issues:
She
has gained weight back
and is doing well.
Interaction with horses:
She is still in an area
alone, but visits Enya
over the fence when not
eating. She arrived
here w/her daughter, but
Devin had to be put down
due to having a cleft
palate and being in such
poor health. They got
along just fine, except
that Tabitha would steal
Devin’s food if she
finished hers first.
Interaction with people:
She has not wanted
anything to do w/humans,
other than to be fed,
but she is starting to
warm up a little. She
still won't allow
touching or catching
other than when she is
eating, but she is
better now about being
touched then. She is
easier to catch now when
she is eating.
History:
Was seized from her
owner by law enforcement
due to low weight.
Training / abilities:
At this point, Tabitha
still doesn’t trust
people entirely. She
can be led, but is hard
to catch. She doesn’t
much like doing ground
work in the round pen.
She will go for a short
distance after I
encourage her on, but
then will stop or walk.
She stops and turns
fast. Might make a good
cutting horse! Once she
has learned to trust
people, I would imagine
she will be more
willing.
Experience level
required to work with
this horse:
Experienced at this
time.
Has this horse ever:
Bucked? No
Reared? no
Kicked? No Bitten?
She acts like she wants
to bite SO badly when I
pet her while she eats,
but she hasn’t yet.
Other?
She wheels around in
fear with the slightest
disturbance.
Ground handling:

Only when she is eating
Lead? Yes

Other comments:

be a dear horse when she
gets over her past life.
