Horses need time to adjust when moved to new surroundings. We highly recommend you visit, spend time with the equines and evaluate the equine before making a decision"

Overall is Healthy

 A

Explain overall Health:  Teeth:  We have had her visually examined by our Equine Dentist, separate from our vet.  The dentist used a speculum to look at her teeth and saw no apparent points, malocclusion, etc.  She said since she was showing no signs of discomfort, dropping feed, unusual eating habits, loss of weight or condition, shyness/reluctance when haltered, handled, groomed, led, etc.  that all should be fine.  She should, however, be checked yearly as continuing maintenance.

B

Explain overall training:  In arenas on-line she does very well, as she does all gaits and backing up. She likes to be lunged and enjoys playing the games and completing the task asked of her. She was ridden in a snaffle or hackamore but did not like the headstall with just the ear adjustment she would only tolerate the standard headstall. She doesn't like for you to be in her mouth or harsh on the reigns as she is still a little head- shy. She needs an experienced rider with training knowledge to continue to work with her consistently over time to further her abilities and for her to gain confidence. She did well out in the pasture being ridden. If you have apple treats she will be your best friend!

Explain history if known:

Upon accepting Stara as a foster we were told she was seized shortly after being auctioned.  He seizure was due to abuse/neglect.  Her ear was split at that location “to identify her in the pasture”, the same reason provided for cutting her tail hair off as close to end of her tail as possible.

She still had the auction tag on her rump when she was seized.
