Temperament: Sparky is a good boy, he's come a long way during his time in foster care.  he was handled roughly in the past and came into the rescue as a scared pony.  But, with gentle and slow handling, he's really become much more manageable.

Physical problems / health issues: None known.

Interaction with horses: Gets along fine with others.

Interaction with people: Loves attention.

History:  Donated by his previous owner.  Was adopted in 2004 but returned due to a divorce in October, 2005 and the adopted and seized again due to neglect - no fault of his own.

Training / abilities: Sparky now has good ground manners and will allow a saddle on his back.  When he was donated to the rescue, it was reported that he had some training under saddle, though with practices used wer not gentle.  He's had a child sit on him without incident with supervision.  However, Sparky has a long way to go before he could be a family or child's riding pony due to his trust issues.  With consisten work and trust, there's no reason he could not get there though.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Intermediate, cannot be timid with him or he reacts timidly.  Needs a confident handler.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No Reared? No Kicked? No Bitten? No Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes, most of the time Lead? Yes Tie?Yes  Trailer? Yes Clip?  Trim Feet? Yes Bathe? Yes

Special needs: Calm, confident and patient handler.

Other comments: In the past Sparky was handled by a 10 year old boy who has some experience.  He could lead, groom and tack him up without a problem.  Sparky does have a flight instinct in him, so he's not a good candidate for a true child's pony at this time.
