Temperament: Sweet and agreeable.  Likes everyone but lives to eat.

Interaction with horses: Slade has two mare friends and the three are always together even when they mingle with the larger herd.  He is not aggressive to other horses.

Interaction with people: Cooperative and willing to please.  He is an easy youngster to handle unless it is feeding time.  He loves to eat and needs to learn manners where food is concerned.  He will run over you for food. 

History: Seized from owner who has history of equine abuse and neglect.

Training / abilities: No training yet beyond being led and trailered. 

Physical problems / health issues: Slade had come in very emaciated, suffered bouts of diarrhea, and pulled his right stifle.  However, these issues have cleared up and he hasn’t had them in two months.  He currently has corrective shoes on his front hooves and is probably going to need shoes for the rest of his life.   

Experience level required to work with this horse:  Intermediate to handle but will need a gentle trainer with experience in young horses.

Other comments: Slade is a doll.  He is loved and needs a home where he can be loved and have horse friends.  He has the potential to be awesome with gentle training.  He is stocky in a bulldog sort of way.
