Seminole Wind
Breed: Paint
Sex: Gelding
DOB: 8-10 years
Weight:
Height: 15.1 hh
Location: Forgan, OK
Adoption Fee:

Temperament: Seminole shows typical stallions behaviors; he's more interested in watching the mares across the fence than interacting with people.  He is not outwardly aggressive towards people, he waits patiently at feeding time, and will gently take treats from my hand.

Physical problems / health issues: None known, although he is a bit swaybacked, but this does not cause him any discomfort and there's no reason he cannot be ridden.

Interaction with horses: Seminole has not yet been pastured with other horses, as he was recently gelded and will take 6 weeks to heal.

Interaction with people:

History: Seminole was found abandoned and was purchased using the rescue's Auction Fund. Seminole was likely used solely as a stud horse.

Training / abilities: Seminole seems to have little or no training.  He is not halter broke, but we are working on this.  He will need to be started from the very beginning. Could do anything, appears sound.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Seminole needs to work with a trainer or someone who is experienced in working with former studs.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other? No.

Ground handling: Catch? No. Lead? No. Tie? No. Trailer? No. Clip? No. Trim Feet? No. Bathe? No.

Special needs: Seminole will need to be separated from mares for the next 6 weeks (~end of Feb 2006).

Other comments: Seminole is a very handsome paint with very loud coloring!  He should come around nicely with time and training.  His behavior should improve since he's been gelded.

June Update - Seminole is now in training for work on his ground manners.
