Temperament: Oni is friendly and easy going if he is left to do as he pleases.  He can be difficult to catch if he knows you want him to do something.

Physical problems / health issues: None.

Interaction with horses: He is the alpha male of a large mixed herd.  He runs the ranch.  He decides who is allowed to be in his group and he herds the other horses around.

Interaction with people: Oni will come up to people and be friendly until he sees you with a halter and lead rope.  Then he leaves.  Oni is motivated by food.

History: Donated by an owner who was transferred out of state.

Training / abilities: Oni has had some ground work but has not been worked with under saddle.  We are not sure of his trainability.  He would need a patient and experienced trainer to saddle break him.  He would be excellent if given the job of baby sitter or guardian for a small herd.  Despite his small stature, he can really take control.

Experience level required to work with this horse:  If the adopter is planning on riding Oni, they need to be very experienced in training horses or have an experienced trainer to work with him.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No Reared? No Kicked? No Bitten? No Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes, with work Lead? Yes, with work Tie? Yes Trailer? Unknown Clip? Unknown Trim Feet? Yes, with patience Bathe? Unknown

Special needs: None.

Other comments: Oni is a wild mustang.  He is friendly and has a lot of spirit.  It is possible that with a dedicated trainer he can be trained.  His adopter must understand his background and be willing to put in the time needed to teach him what it means to work with people.  He would do very well in a forever home with a small herd that needs a strong herd boss.
