“These assessments are based on how these horses respond in their current environment and any change in their current environment, riders, diet, etc could have an effect on the horses' immediate performance. Horses need time to adjust when moved to new surroundings. We highly recommend you visit, spend time with the equines and evaluate the equine before making a decision"

Explain overall socialization: He has come around a lot.  In previous home, he did not seem to seek out human contact, but in our home he is around adults and children (ages 6, 8, and 12) at least 2X per day and we have all been able to love, groom, and fly spray him with only a little (typical Arabian) stubborn behavior.  Once he warms up, he is a character!  He comes to us to scratch his back end (unless the fence is working for him!)   He can be dominant (but not aggressive) with other horses.   He was dominant over a 13 year old gelding and a 20 year old mare, but we introduced a 6 year old gelding in April 2009 and he is submissive to him.

Explain manners: Moon has never attempted to kick, bite, or shown any other negative or aggressive behavior.   Once haltered, he is very cooperative for leading and trimming and stands tied.   I have been working on walking up and haltering him, but he likes to be “caught” ( I think it is more a stubborn behavior.)   Once you have the lead rope around his neck, he knows you are in charge and cooperates fully.

Explain overall training:  His first foster home (Summer 2008) saddled and rode him.  He flipped a few times and bucked but they were able to ride him consistently after that without incident.   He has not been ridden since as he was moved into another home in the Fall of 2008, then into our care at the end of January 2009.  I do not ride and my daughter is too young and not experienced enough to attempt.   We have put a saddle blanket on his back and he didn’t mind and have laid across his back without incident.   He is a beautiful mover and will be great in a home that is able to continue his training.

Explain history if known:  Moon was seized from a multi-horse seizure.
