Temperament:  Nagen is young and curious. He still acts very much like a teenager. He likes to check everything out and gets into what he can. He is very protective of his feed even though he is fed is his own stall.  But he grazes and eats hay with others in the herd.

Physical problems / health issues: Quite healthy. No known problems.

Interaction with horses: Middle to bottom of the herd. Nagen seems to bond easily with other horses. He especially likes older horses that show leadership.

Interaction with people: Nagen REALLY likes people. He approaches in the pasture and halters easily. He likes to be petted and loved on. In his foster home he seemed to love having children ride him.  He knows which stall is his, and goes to it at feeding time.

History: Seized by law enforcement and awarded to HfH.

Training / abilities: Nagen has a beautiful floating trot at a young age. He has completed his basic training under saddle and has done extremely well. He has shown himself to be an excellent riding horse, but still needs some work with neck reining.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Nagen has had some training and done quite well. He has an easy gait and a soft manner. He is currently being ridden by a 12 year old. Nagen would do well with an advanced beginner. He needs some one willing to ride him often to give him more experience.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? Yes, at other horses in defense. Bitten? Yes, he bit the donkey in his foster home that tried to steal his grain. Other? No.

Ground handling: Catch? Easy to catch. Lead? Yes, but he sometimes rushes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Loads easily into a stock trailer.  Clip? Yes. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Unknown.

Special needs: Nagen will be a small horse, so he needs a person of light weight when ridden. He needs that special person who will spend time with him. He is young and impressionable.
