Temperament: Mi-Ti was a well mannered stallion and is now an excellent gelding. It is likely that he was used for some breeding, and he does present some dominant tendencies in his current herd of one so any adopter will need to work on turnout in a mixed herd. He's a very laid back gelding though.

Physical problems / health issues: Mi-Ti's feet were neglected for a number of years.  However, he's sound now after some months of rehab with proper nutrition. One vet did recommended shoeing both front hoofs because he had absolutely no frog when he entered the organization. However, he remained barefoot since there wasn't much to attach a shoe to in the beginning of his rehab. He continued to do fine barefoot. He still could benefit from very regular trimming, every four weeks if possible, to help keep the dead matter to a minimum.  He may need shoeing in the future for riding or boots if someone wanted to continue with his natural regimen.  He may be tender-footed on very rough terrain.  He's done very well without shoes so far though and should only continue to improve.

Interaction with horses: He is currently out with an older draft gelding and dominant over him. He does do some biting where feed is concerned. Unknown how he would do in a mixed herd at this time. This has not been tested yet. He would need some transitioning to this type of herd, but is likely going to do just fine with it given his personality.

Interaction with people:

History: Donation in lieu of law enforcement seizure.

Training / abilities: Mi-Ti was tacked up and accepted the saddle just fine. He accepted the bit with some hesitation and continued playing with it while being ridden. He has some history of riding for sure, but he is rusty. he offered no bad reactions when the rider mounted him, but again, was rusty where reining was concerned. he definitely needs a couple weeks of brushing up, but he's amenable to riding. He did get a bit ouchy on his fronts, but see lameness issues above for more details. His feet are still in rehab, but with continued quality trimming and possibly shoeing, he will improve over time. He can currently do some riding to get back into shape, but preferable with boots on soft ground or with shoeing after a consultation with a farrier. His right front is still in recovery so any rider needs to be conscious and considerate of his limitations in regard to his feet.

Experience level required to work with this horse:  Intermediate on the ground and for an under saddle brush up, experienced rider. Once he's back into riding form he should be fine for an intermediate. It's unknown if he has trail experience. He's only been tested in an enclosed area for a short period of time.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other? No.

Ground handling: Catch? Yes.  Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes. Clip? Unknown. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Yes.

Special needs: Mi-Ti needs continued attention to his feet, which have suffered after years of neglect. He's not foundered, but was in a wet stall for some years and that took it's toll on his feet. Over time, prognosis is excellent, and he's not currently lame at all.

Other comments: Beautiful palomino gelding with a very sweet personality! Mi-Ti is registered however we have been unable to obtain his papers.
