Temperament: Gentle, sweet, passive.

Physical problems / health issues: Beginning to get stiff in her back legs.

Interaction with horses: She is just fine.  Completely, totally attached to Marco (see “Marco” profile – 06-200).

Interaction with people: Very well behaved, lovely mare.  Follows commands.  Loves people attention.

History: Stay us with folks, this is one long, sweet story:  Misty was the long lost love of Marco from 9 years ago. Her owners purchased her from a place.  At that time they saw the special relationship of Misty and Marco.  When HfH later seized Marco from the people where Misty was purchased, Misty’s owners remembered the special relationship/bond of Misty and Marco.  Misty’s owners stepped back in and adopted Marco so the two could be together again. Did Misty and Marco remember each other?  They did…and how!  Recently, due to unforeseen circumstances the owners had to relinquish Marco and elected to send Misty along with him for fear she would just go downhill if she lost Marco again.

Training / abilities: In her day, Misty was a wonderful riding horse.  At this time in her life, she will make someone a wonderful companion.  Her former owner feels that it would not be comfortable for her any longer.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Beginner.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other?  

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes. Clip? Yes. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Yes.

Special needs: Possibly start on arthritis med for her joints.  She doesn’t eat much hay, but enjoys having a few alfalfa cubes with each meal.

Other comments: From her former people:  “Misty is a storybook sweetheart.  She will melt your heart.  She melted mine.  Please keep her with Marco for the remainder of her years.  I would not ever want to break her heart.”
