Temperament: Tempermental.  Very like a mule in that if you want her to do something, you must make her think it is her idea.

Physical problems / health issues: Jewel has rickets which the vet says is a permanent condition.  Her knees touch and her hooves splay out.  She loses her balance if she tries to back up.  This condition is due to malnutrition as a foal.

Interaction with horses: Jewel is bossy but gets along with a small mixed herd.

Interaction with people: Would rather not be bothered with people.  She will not come up to you in a field.  She is perfectly happy not being touched.  She does not enjoy being groomed.    

History: Seized and awarded to HfH.

Training / abilities: Can be caught and led but has the attitude of “do I have to?”  Jewel may not be rideable due to her conformation issues.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Experience with young horses.
