Mazey
Breed: Grade
Sex: Mare
DOB: 1995
Color: Buckskin
Height: 15 hh
Location: Tecumseh, OK
Adoption Fee: $100

Temperament: Mazey is very laid back, and for the most part, has a ‘been there, done that’ attitude.

Physical problems / health issues: Mazey has an old injury to her left back pastern area. It appears that her tendon has been severed, causing her pastern to sit very close to the ground.  Mazey is pasture sound, and has no problem keeping up with the other horses!

Interaction with horses:  Mazey is pastured with two mares and is in the middle of the herd; they get along great with no problems.  In the past, she has been pastured with a mixed herd of several horses and always falls in the middle to the bottom of the pack.  However, if she happens to be boss over another horse, Mazey can be mean.

Interaction with people: Mazey is very easy to handle and work with.  She will try to walk away if she spots a halter and lead rope, mostly because I feel she thinks ‘work’ is a foul word!  If her handler approaches with a treat or feed, she will allow herself to be caught easily.

History: Unknown.

Training / abilities: Good ground manners. Companion only due to physical problems.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Intermediate

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? Yes, at other horses. Kicked? Yes, at other horses. Bitten? No. Other? No.

Ground handling: Catch? Sometimes can be difficult Lead? Yes Tie? Yes Trailer? Yes Clip? Unknown Trim Feet? Yes Bathe? Yes

Special needs: Mazey needs her farrier to understand that she can not bear a lot of weight for long times on her injured leg and he needs to be able to quickly trim her other back leg or let it rest several times. She will be in pain and limp if not.

Other comments: Mazey is a beautiful horse and loves people!
