Temperament: Lucky Boy is very easy to handle with an experienced handler. He had a trailer loading accident years ago and donor said he can be hard to load. On his first night at our place I was standing in front of him in his stall looking up at him telling him that he was ok now. He gently lowered his head and laid his cheek against mine and started gently rubbing my cheek.

Physical problems / health issues: Lucky Boy had an injury to left rear leg which appears to be healing well. He also has a slight breathing problem due to a trailer loading accident years ago per donor information given us. Due to this I would not recommend any prolonged endurance work.

Interaction with horses: Lucky Boy was part of a herd and hung out with one of our mares most of the time.

Interaction with people: He likes attention, calm and seeks you out for love. The only issue we had was the rushing to his feed which is not unusual with the horses we get that have not been fed properly for a long time.

History: Lucky Boy was donated to Habitat for Horses.

Training / abilities: He has been have bridled, saddled, worked and ridden him in round pen. Lucky is a big horse with trail and some English training that will make someone a great horse for trail or pleasure. He responds to reins and leg commands and can benefit from 30-60 days tuning/re-training.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Advanced, he is a TB-big and fast.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes, can be a little difficult to load at times. His foster home has worked with him on this. Clip? Unknown. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Yes.

Special needs: Lucky Boy needs to be feed separately from other horses. He is a willing horse and should have no problems if he is worked with.
