Habitat for Horses has added a trainer, Lee Paul Shinn, to its adoption program. Lee Paul will also assist in evaluating horses for adoption.
Lee Paul Shinn
Lee Paul Shinn brings a world of knowledge to Habitat for Horses. He has 24 years of experience in showing and training including training a numerous amount of World and Reserve Champions in AQHA, AQHYA, APHA, ApHCA, and PHBA. Lee also showcases a countless number of top ten awards at the AQHA World Show and the Quarter Horse Congress. He specializes in Hunters, Hunter under Saddle, Pleasure Driving, Trail, Western Riding, and Showmanship.
While we still adhere to the belief that a horse is more than just a service animal, we feel that by including a trainer in our program, we can extend an abused and neglected horse's training, conditioning and manners from beyond the ground to the saddle, therefore, increasing his chance for adoption. We continue to hold the belief that it is the owner's responsibility to provide their adopted horse with a lasting home regardless of whether the horse can be ridden or not ridden.
Note: Please note that not all of our horses will receive additional training by Lee Paul Shinn.
Handling and Riding Instructions for Volunteers Lee Paul will also provide handling and riding instructions to volunteers at HfH. His instructions will assist our volunteers in better communication and handling of the horses who enter through our gates.
