“These assessments are based on how these horses respond in their current environment and any change in their current environment, riders, diet, etc could have an effect on the horses' immediate performance. Horses need time to adjust when moved to new surroundings. We highly recommend you visit, spend time with the equines and evaluate the equine before making a decision"

Explain overall Health:

Kandi was diagnosed in May 2004 with asthma when she lived in the Austin area. She has not shown any signs of asthma in GA, so it may have been an allergy instead.  Kandi shouldn't have coastal as she has coliced twice on coastal.  She does well on T&A and is a very easy keeper.  She is beautiful and a healthy horse!

Explain overall socialization: Kandi gets very bonded to a buddy in the pasture, and is unhappy when that buddy is taken away.  She can also be a bit head shy.  Kandi is a gentle and loving horse when her human is gentle and loving with her.  If her human is aggressive, she can get aggressive.  She whinnies every time you walk out and whistle for her.  She was imprint trained at birth and at times tends to treat humans like another horse. She has a lot of attitude to go with her personality. She loves attention and grooming. When in new situations she needs time to check things out. She does not respond well to a strong hand but rather does better when allowed to come to a decision on her own through use of praise.

Explain overall training:  Kandi rides fine, but could use some more work.  She doesn’t really like to be ridden alone.  She has bucked in the arena and going down the road, but nothing too bad.  She is improving as more work is done with her.  She would do well to have some brush up training, or an experienced rider who can give her the miles under saddle she needs to be a great riding horse.

Explain history if known:  She was donated to HfH by her owner whose vet advised moving her north of central Texas.
