Temperament:
Kamry is very social,
but can be pushy. She
loves attention and is
good on the ground
(however, she does not
like her feet being
handled!) but is very
rusty under saddle. She
stays very clean and
she’s an overall easy
keeper.
Physical problems / health issues: None.
Interaction with horses: If given the opportunity,
she will be the boss
mare and then she will
be aggressive towards
the other horses. She
was pastured with
another young mare for a
week, and she was very
aggressive. In her herd
of four geldings and
another mare right now,
she and the other mare
are primarily at the
bottom and she just
stays out of everybody’s
way.
Interaction with people: She is very social and
likes to follow you
around, but she can be
pushy and she will test
you, especially when
under saddle. But
otherwise she is very
sweet and loves to be
doted over.
History: Kamry was seized by law enforcement and
awarded to Habitat for
Horses. She had been
neglected and was
emaciated.
Training / abilities: She is sound and being ridden
in her foster home! When
evaluated under saddle,
she was a little rusty, and
appears to only have
been taught the basics.
She took the bit and the
girth tentatively but
did not show extreme
fear of any. She
did pick up a trot after
much persuasion, but
never wanted to pick up
a canter.
