Temperament: J.J. was a well mannered stallion and has proven a great gelding. His ground manners with humans are good and he enjoys his humans very much.  He likes to go to work and get that butt right down, so should make a good sport horse.  His trainer thinks he might make a nice cutting horse.

Physical problems / health issues: None known.

Interaction with horses: JJ was out with a herd at a foster home and did well, he bonded with Tanner. He can act studly and herd "his" mares if out in a mixed herd though.  So, the right mix of horses is going to be key with him.  Ideally, a single sex pasture would suit him, but he did do a mixed herd in a foster home without incident, so integration is not out of the question.

Interaction with people:

History: Seized due to neglect by law enforcement and awarded to the organization.

Training / abilities: JJ is a willing student.  He tacks up well, stands good for mounting, lunges great, works good in a round pen on cue and has been started under saddle going walk, trot, canter in a pen and in an arena.  His trainer is now working on reining refinements.  JJ gets him butt right under him - a nice natural ability to work off his hind end which can take a long time to teach a horse. He does it naturally!   He's a real hit at the training facility.  Many people have been on JJ, not just the trainer and he's been a good boy for different riders.  With continued work, he's going to make a good horse for anyone to ride.  Just needs the miles.  Not tried on trails.  Could do anything in line with size and breed, no limitations.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Advanced beginner on the ground, intermediate under saddle in an enclosed area.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other? No.

Ground handling: Catch? Yes.  Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes. Clip? Unknown. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Yes.

Special needs:

Other comments: His photos do him no justice at all, he's a striking color.
