Breed:
Grade Sex:
Mare
YOB: 2000 Weight:
Height: 14.2 hh
Color: Bay
Markings: Star
Location:
Alvin, TX
Adoption Fee:
Fee In Review
Temperament:
Jentry is strong and
pretty and shy. She has
a fear of people and at
this time is not
approachable.
Physical problems /
health issues:
Jentry has a condition
called anhydrosis which
is the inability to
sweat. This is easily
controlled by daily
over-the-counter
medication in her feed.
Interaction with horses:
Jentry does very well
with other horses. She
is in the middle of the
herd hierarchy and never
causes problems.
Interaction with people:
Jentry is afraid of
people but has made
progress since coming to
the ranch. She has
begun to come up to us
for cookies. We think
she would improve
greatly if she was put
in an “only horse” home
where she would have to
rely on people.
History:
Donated in lieu of
seizure.
Training / abilities:
Untested since she
cannot be approached.
We don’t think she has
had any training
though.
Experience level
required to work with
this horse:
Experienced. Jentry
needs to be trained by
someone she does not
feel threatened by.
Has this horse ever:
Bucked? No
Reared? No
Kicked? Yes
Bitten? No Other?
Ground handling:
Catch? No
Lead? Unknown
Tie? Unknown
Trailer? Unknown
Clip? Unknown
Trim Feet? Unknown
Bathe? Unknown
Special needs:
Medication for her
anhydrosis
Other comments:
Jentry needs to be one
on one with a person.
She would do better in a
place without a herd to
rely on. She will need
a special person with
patience and love to
share with her.
