Temperament: Jaimie is an extremely sweet and trusting mare despite her poor condition, great ground manners, loves attention.

Physical problems / health issues: Very malnourished, but otherwise appears healthy. Has some weakness in her front fetlocks, the left one especially.  DSLD, Degenerative Suspensory Ligament Disorder. With the disorder, over time the suspensory ligaments break down not just in the legs but throughout the horse's body. It often shows up with 2-4 dropped pasterns and Jamie is dropped in both her front pasterns, the left more so than the right. The diagnosis for this condition is through ultrasound based on the criteria created by a veterinarian named Dr. Mero whose site about the condition is here:
http://www.angelfire.com/bc/curlygait/dsldorg.html

Interaction with horses: Jaimie appears to be one of those mares that can get along with just about any other equine, she seems to love them all.  She was with a gelding for a bit and did great with him, they were very bonded.  In her current foster situation, she's with a mare and they bonded immediately.

Interaction with people:

History: Donated in lieu of law enforcement seizure. She was a pleasure horse. She did have a mule baby in May 2006 since she was pastured with a jack.

Training / abilities: Likely well broke to ride if her ground manners are any indication of her level of training. Will be tested further when healthy in later fall.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Advanced Beginner, can get a bit pushy at feeding time since she's hungry.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other? No.

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes, walks right in and rides well. Clip? Yes. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Yes.

Special needs: Good feeding program right now.

Other comments: What a fabulously sweet mare this is, seems like an all-around horse and we believe broke to ride.  Such a great attitude and so trusting despite being starved.  Will also be a nice looking mare once rehabbed.
