Jackson
Breed: Grade
Sex: Gelding
DOB: 1992
Height:
Color: Brown
Markings:
Location: Sealy, TX
Adoption Fee: $300

Temperament: Smart, motivated, interested in everything.

Physical problems / health issues: He does have some knots on his forehead from a prior injury, but they are very old and cause him no pain at all.  However, he acts as if he was unbridled and bridled very roughly and acted almost afraid to first when you put a bit in his mouth.  After this had been done several times, he has realized that he will not be hurt around his face and is easier to work with.  He may have a back issue since he seems to be in pain when a heavy person gets on him.

Interaction with horses:  Bottom of the herd (he's with two mares)

Interaction with people: Loves people.

History:  Awarded to HFH after a seizure.

Training / abilities: Is trained to ride, and seems to do OK with a very light person at a walk and a trot but bucks with a heavier person or adult.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Beginner on the ground and intermediate-advanced riding.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No Reared? No Kicked? No Bitten? No Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes Lead? Yes Tie?Yes  Trailer?Yes  Clip?YesTrim Feet? Yes  Bathe? Yes, he loves water.

Special needs: None.

Other comments: Jackson is a lot of fun to be around.  He really wants to be a "one person horse".  He seems to bond really fast with the people he is around the most.  Jackson is very smart and will try and get away with things like paw at the gate/fence as soon as someone is in the saddle.  He has obviously gotten away with this behavior before, however, in his current foster home, his behavior was not a deterrant to the rider and he worked through it very well.

He has a fun personality and wants to be the "prankster" in the group.

Jackson is a super nice horse and absolutely beautiful.  He has been thriving on more attention now and wants his very own family.
