Indy
Breed: Warmblood,
registered
Sex: Mare
DOB: 2004
Height:
16.1
Color: Gray
Markings:
Two socks Location:
Azle, TX
Adoption Fee:
$2000
Temperament:
Indy is a strong-willed,
beautiful mare with a
lot of talent. She has a
very strong personality
and a bit of an
attitude. With the wrong
handler, she is too much
to deal with. But with a
strong handler who will
give her the proper
discipline, she has the
potential to be a
SPECTACULAR dressage
horse.
Physical problems / health issues:
None.
Interaction with horses:
Does fine with dominant
mares. She has some
dominant tendencies with
other horses.
Interaction with people:
Indy doesn’t like being
tied very much. She’s
fine unless someone
walks by, then she will
nip at them. Whoever is
grooming/working with
her is fine, but random
people coming into her
space bother her.
History: Donated
to HfH.
Training / abilities:
Indy is trained in
dressage. She can
sidepass at the walk and
trot, and has a nice
piaffe. She got her
first premium for
movement as a 3 mo
old. She will be going
for her Training Level
One soon.
Experience level
required to work with
this horse:
Experienced. Indy can be
hard-headed and take
advantage of a handler
who isn’t strong with
her. She is doing fine
with her current foster
mom, who is an
experienced trainer.
Has this horse ever:
Bucked? Reared?
Kicked?
Bitten? She
has nipped at people. Other?
Ground handling:
Catch? Lead?
Tie?
Yes, but she doesn’t
like people walking past
her.
Trailer?
Clip?
Trim Feet?
Bathe?
Special needs:
Indy would do best with
someone experienced in
dressage who has worked
with bringing up young
horses before.
Other comments:
Indy has the potential
to be an amazing show
horse. With the right
partnership, there is no
limit to what she could
do.
