Temperament: Hoover is very gentle, well mannered, and handlable.  He can be young and silly but will do anything to please his human family.  He was returned to the rescue through no fault of his own. 

Physical problems / health issues: Hoover is smaller that he probably should be.  The first year of his life was a horror of starvation and abuse.  His smaller stature is most likely due to the extreme, and nearly fatal, starvation he endured when he needed nutrition for growing.  Though he’s not so big, he is stunningly beautiful.    

Interaction with horses: Hoover is an easy going guy and makes friends easily.  He gets along with his equine buddies very well.  Care should be taken, however, to be sure that a large aggressive horse doesn’t injure or frighten him.   

Interaction with people: This gorgeous boy will simply do anything you ask him to.  He’ll follow you into a trailer or stand tied as long as you want.  He loves grooming, affection and treats.  It’s amazing that he still enjoys the company of humans after his near fatal start in life.

History: Training / abilities:  Hoover is not broke to ride at this point but he pretty much can do everything else.  His saddle breaking was probably delayed so he could be sure and grow and mature all he could physically.   Will only be able to handle a small rider.

Other comments: Hoover is an extremely beautiful horse.  He looks like something out of a painting or fanciful drawing.  He is athletic and quick while at the same time very gentle and looking to please his handler.  He is sensitive and perceptive so a harsh hand or voice will get you nowhere with this guy.  However with kindness and patience there isn’t a limit to what he can do for you.  If you want a “Prince Charming” in your pasture you need to snatch this boy up quick.
