Honey Suckle
Breed:  Grade
Sex: Mare
DOB:  1987
Height: 14.2 hh
Color: Buckskin
Markings:
Location: Galveston, TX
Adoption Fee: $350

Temperament: Agreeable but aloof; confident but not aggressive.

Physical problems / health issues: Honeysuckle’s backbone sticks up over her topline.  Vet says this is old scar tissue caused by a poor saddle.  She is sore in the withers and back.  Chiropractic work may help these problems but has not yet been done.

Interaction with horses: Honeysuckle has two special friends, Shy Moon and Flower. They stay together and do not interact much with the rest of the herd.

Interaction with people: Not overly friendly but not fearful, either.  She prefers to stay away from people but is easy to catch and responsive once caught.

History: Donated by her owner.

Training / abilities: Honeysuckle is rideable but a bit rusty.  She neck reins and backs up.  She is not lazy and has some get up and go.  She tends to toss her head but this might be because she is sore and with chiropractic work this may well lessen.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Beginner to intermediate.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No Reared? No Kicked? No Bitten? No Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes Lead? Yes Tie? Yes Trailer? Yes Clip? Unknown Trim Feet? Yes Bathe? Yes

Special needs: Needs some chiropractic work to help her back be less sore.

Other comments: Honeysuckle is a beautiful, strong, and non-aggressive rideable horse.  She prefers her buddies to people but she is accepting of people and cooperative.  With a person or family to love her, she may forget that she prefers to be with horses and ask to move into her family’s house.
