Temperament: Gunny is settling into his new home nicely and has been very well behaved.

Update Jan.23, 2008:  Gunny has been with me now for 3 months.  He is calm, even tempered and very well behaved.  I spend a lot of time working in Gunny’s area.  I have accidentally dropped shovels, banged doors, and once threw a shovel full of dirt at him when I didn’t know he was there.  None of these things upset him.  He will get a little spooky and move away from the tractor and the ATV, when they are moving.

Physical problems / health issues: None known.

Interaction with horses: He keeps a close eye on the mare & filly that he came in with. He is not being let out with my personal horses due to his fairly recent gelding.

Interaction with people: This is one great horse.  He is easy to catch and halter, leads very well, backs on command, and knows not to crowd me.  He likes attention and will come right up to me often when I’m working in his area.  I can clean his stall with him in it, including reaching around and under him.  He lets me duck under his neck or walk behind him without being the least bit bothered.  I love to lay my cheek against his and just relax.  He doesn’t mind a nice long hug, either.

History: Gunny was part of a seizure in Walker County and donated to Habitat for Horses.

Training / abilities: To be determined.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Beginner on the ground.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked?  Reared?  Kicked? No Bitten? No Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie?  Trailer? Yes. Clip?  Trim Feet? Yes Bathe?

Special needs:

Other comments: He has a very smooth trot and looks great while doing it, with his tail held high.
