Horses need time to adjust when moved to new surroundings. We highly recommend you visit, spend time with the equines and evaluate the equine before making a decision"

Explain overall Health:  Firefly is not an easy horse to keep weight on.  Her hooves and teeth are good and she is in good health, she just needs some extra care to keep her at a good weight.  She has a massive scar on her left side.  What caused it is not known but it is cosmetic only and causes her no problem.  She has a stifle issue that would prevent her from being ridden but it does not stop her from horse activities.

Explain overall socialization: Firefly is nervous of people and a bit standoffish and reserved.  She could hurt someone trying to get away when scared.  She can be approached on her terms but you’d best be alert for signs of panic.  She will run away rather than fight you.  She gets along with other horses and would make a good buddy for a horse who is already in a family situation but could use a pasture friend.

Explain manners:  Firefly has not been taught much of anything.  She would need a patient and loving person to teach her the basics and to be someone she could learn to trust.  She is wary of strangers but responds to gentle but cautious individuals who know to speak to her in a quiet manner.  Rough treatment in her past is probably the reason she is defensive and fearful.
