Temperament: Dove is a super sweet little mare and super friendly. She would be great family material. She comes right to you and loves to be petted.

Physical problems / health issues: None known. Dove arrived malnourishment, but she has gained weight well.

Interaction with horses: Dove is not a dominant type. She gets along with other horses but does not seek out their company. She tends to stay to herself.

Interaction with people: She almost seems to prefer the company of people to other horses.

History: Donation in lieu of law enforcement seizure.

Training / abilities: We believe Dove may be broken to ride. She did not object to being led around with a saddle and lunged with one without a fuss. Although she did not want to take the bit, she did, but fussed at it. However, from the ground, she turned to the left, right and backed with only fingertip pressure. However, due to some persistent popping when she walks, which comes from her hip area, Dove should be a companion horse only.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Advanced Beginner.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other? No.

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes. Clip? Unknown. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Yes.

Special needs: Senior feeding regimen. She had eye allergies when she was in the Austin area that went away here, west of Houston. In addition, she has a sore on the midline of her belly which seems to be aggravated by gnats and flies and needs to be treated every few days.

Other comments: She loves people, is always waiting for her food and loves her daily wither massage. She is a true sweetheart who would make a great companion. She has not shown any aggression to anyone, except for my obnoxious dog who is very persistent about stealing her food. She does not mind the polite dog!
