Temperament: Creole has a cute personality and gets the routine down very quickly.  He's going to make someone a perfect "pocket pony" and with this temperament at 18 months of age, he should be great kid or family material.  He was great about haltering and leading with just a few lessons and he practically pushes his head in the halter for a treat!  He's curious and readily approaches for love. He's always been really sweet although he a baby temper tantrum if he is pushed beyond his comfort level, but his foster mom believes that is mostly immaturity.

Physical problems / health issues: Has a puffy back right fetlock from an old injury, but it's not causing him to be lame at all.  He's sound on it and it's not painful to the touch.  It was vetted and x-rayed and is well healed despite the fact that its a bit enlarged.  It should not be a factor for pleasure riding.

Interaction with horses: He is near the bottom of a 5 horse, mixed herd but gets along fine with all of them. He is also very good with dogs.

Interaction with people:

History: Seized by law enforcement and awarded to the organization.

Training / abilities:  Creole is a typical almost 2 year old, he is very social but doesn't know a whole lot of what is expected yet.  He readily loaded into a trailer with his buddy Tallulah and has done everything asked of him so far.  He's catchable, leadable, loadable and highly trainable. May need to continue growing some before being really ridden, but someone could work on ground manners, round penning, desensitization and tacking with him now.  He would respond well to this foundation work, he's a clean slate.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Intermediate - needs continued training.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared?  Yes, in a stall when his pasture mate was being led away, typical 2 year old behavior.  Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other?  He’ll roughhouse when playing with his buddies.  Other than that he reared once when he was being taken away from everyone but settled down fairly quickly and was a bit mouthy, typical youngster.

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? Usually, although has pulled back occasionally if he gets scared, learning to give to pressure. Trailer? His foster mom has only trailered him once and he did fine. Clip? Trim Feet? Yes, but will fidget if it goes on too long. Bathe? Good, still needs work on spraying face although he likes to play with the hose and drink from it.

Special needs:

Other comments: Creole's photos don't do him any justice, he's a beautiful young bay gelding, nicely put together.  He has lovely gaits too.  Hopefully, better photos will come soon  He just won't stay away from you long enough to take a good photo!  He's going to make someone a great horse.
