Abuse and Neglect in Texas
According to the Texas Penal Code Ann. § 42.09 (Vernon 2002), Cruelty to Animals, the following is considered cruel or inhumane treatment of animals and warrants investigation, seizure, and filing of charges:

- torturing an animal
- seriously overworking an animal
- failure to provide necessary food, care, or shelter for an animal
- abandonment of an animal
- killing, injuring, or administering poison to an animal
- causing animals to fight
- using live animals as a lure in dog racing
- horse tripping

If you believe you know of horses or other equines who are being abused or neglected, you may contact the listed number. We will take the necessary steps to investigate the claim.

Taking care of a horse via foster care is extremely rewarding. We are always looking for foster homes. If you want to provide a horse a loving home and/or training until it finds its forever home, please consider fostering.

Volunteer Coordinator

Our volunteer program is designed to bring people that have a deep love and respect for horses together with horses that need love and respect. Through a series on hands-on experiences, including diet, grooming, handling, medical and dental care, round pen training and riding, our hope is that volunteers will acquire the knowledge to interact with horses in a positive manner. Marketing and Fundraising

Our organization thrives because of its dedicated members and volunteers. The marketing and fundraising group wants to promote this great organization and find ways to help horse lovers help the horses. We welcome any offers for fundraisers, distribution of our materials or recommendations such as ideas to help us work better for the horses.
