Temperament: Chulita has a sweet temperament right up until things don’t go her way. She can be impatient and pushy particularly at feeding time but later nuzzle and love on you.

Physical problems / health issues: None known.

Interaction with horses: Gets along fine with the herd; is near the bottom of the peck.

Interaction with people: Lets you pet and rub her;  she hasn’t had much handling.

History: Donated in lieu of seizure along with her young colt.  That colt, Chulita’s Beau #07-249, now about 3 years old,  has turned out to be a real sweetheart, has had his ground work and is ready to start training under saddle.  At time of seizure, they were so hungry that they were nibbling.

Training / abilities: Can be led but hasn’t had any ground training at all.  Now, set in her ways due to her age, she would require an experienced trainer to handle her.

Other comments: Chulita has a problem finding an adoptable home due to her age and lack of training.  With her good disposition, she may be trainable and become a useful horse with the right person.  Presently, she can be dangerous and is not suitable for children.  She will remain in sanctuary care until someone accepts this project.
