Temperament: Catalina is a very sweet mare, she walks up to her parents when they enter pasture and follows them like a puppy. She's very smart and curious.  She learns very quickly. She displays some good athleticism in the pastures too, so once further trained, should be good for sports. She is very good around dogs. She doesn't seem to care even with a number of big dogs running in the pasture or around her.

Physical problems / health issues: None known.

Interaction with horses: Could be a dominant type in some herd situations, she has shown some dominance towards the other mare in the pasture. She is especially protective during feeding time.

Interaction with people: She is very loving towards people. She is a little possessive of her foster dad and is wherever he is in the pasture. She loves treats. If she hears her fosters parents are home she will stand at the back fence and wait.

History:

Training / abilities: She is doing great on her ground work.  She sacked out nicely, not spooky at all, you can touch her all over with various objects and she stands quietly, she responds great to pressure, learns quickly and is a beautiful mover.  Allows handling of all four of her feet without any trouble. She ground ties for grooming, and tolerates baths and fly spray fine.

She is doing great with riding. She will stand to be tacked up without being tied. She is not necessarily crazy about it and every so often will pin her ears but that is all the protest she gives.  She loves to go fast, and needs a confident rider.  She needs a little work on giving to pressure.  With her love of speed she could be a great sport horse.

Could be trained to do anything in line with breed and size.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Intermediate to advanced.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes, but may need continued work. Clip? Unknown. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Yes, and is fine with fly spray.

Special needs: Needs a rider who can handle an energetic, enthusiastic horse.
