Temperament:
Calista has a very
strong personality. She
knows what she wants and
does her best to get
it. She is dominant
when dealing with both
horses and people.
Physical problems /
health issues:
None known.
Interaction with horses:
Calista is one of the
more dominant mares in a
large mixed herd. She
is not overly aggressive
but does make her wishes
known. She is not
mean. She will not pick
on other horses but she
will not back down. She
has never hurt any other
horse but the others are
aware that she is one of
the mares in charge.
Interaction with people:
Calista runs hot and
cold with people. If
she wants attention, she
will come and demand it
but when she is done,
she leaves and is
irritated if you stop
her.
History:
Came into HfH care in a
seizure of five horses.
Training / abilities:
Calista is rideable and
has been ridden at the
ranch. She is a bit
bucky and will do little
crow hops but no major
bucking. She does not
appear to be seriously
trying to buck anyone
off her. She would
behave better with
regular riding. She
moves like a Paso Fino
but does not have the
gait.

strong, beautiful girl
that is flashy in person
but does not photograph
well. She is the color
of a bright copper
penny. She has a lot of
personality and a lot of
strength. With a job to
keep her busy, she will
do very well indeed.
She is smart and will
learn quickly from a
person willing to put
time into teaching her.
She stands out in the
herd and must be seen to
be appreciated.
