Temperament: Buttons is a super sweet in your pocket type of girl.  She was unhandled when she came to rescue but has decided that people are a good thing.  She is a quick learner and really wants to please.  When she gets scared she looks to her people for reassurance.

Physical problems / health issues: None known.

Interaction with horses: Buttons is subordinate to most horses.  She doesn’t seem to be too worried about her place in the herd and doesn’t try to be in charge.  She does somewhat dominate a yearling gelding she lives with but he needs it.

Interaction with people: :  Buttons has a curious “hey are you my friend?” type of personality that makes her the favorite very quickly wherever she is.  In spite of her lack of handling as a youngster she likes people and wants to please.  She would probably crumble with harsh handling and needs a patient trainer who understands that she gets her feelings hurt easily if she doesn’t know what you want.

History: Was an unhandled horse when she came to HfH.

Training / abilities: Buttons could do just about anything when she grows up.  She likes being a “pocket pony” but could also excel in any discipline due to her good conformation and lovely gaits.  She is a truly beautiful mover.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Experienced and gentle with young horses.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes.  Trailer?  Yes, led her sister in after she looked it over even though she was barely halter broke. Clip? Not yet. Trim Feet? Yes.   Bathe? Not yet.

Special needs:

Other comments: : This is a “Live in your Tent” type of Arabian.  Her personality is precious and she adores being around her people.  It’s hard to believe this filly wasn’t handled as a baby.  Her mind is solid and she is a logical little thinker.  She is also drop dead gorgeous.
