Buck
Breed: Paint
Sex: Gelding
DOB: 2003
Height:
14.2 hh
Color: Black &
White
Markings:
Location:
Hitchcock, TX Adoption Fee:
Temperament:
The words to best
describe Buck are sweet,
gentle, and cooperative
yet feisty. Even though
he had grave injuries,
he appears to enjoy
life.
Physical problems /
health issues:
Buck has terrible wounds
caused by barbed wire.
They are healing very
well and he should
recover fully within
about six months.
Interaction with horses:
Buck is turned out with
the ranch herd for
limited periods of
play. He cannot be
turned out for extended
exercise since the
wounds may open up if
playtime gets rowdy. He
gets along well with the
large mixed herd when he
is allowed to mingle
with them.
Interaction with people:
Buck is very receptive
to being handled, enjoys
being around people, and
is very cooperative when
his wound receives daily
cleaning. Although we
know it is painful, he
has been completely
accepting of our efforts
to clean him so the
wounds can heal well.
History:
Buck was donated after
his barbed wire
accident.
Training / abilities:
Buck is said to be
rideable although due to
his massive injuries, he
has yet to be evaluated
by the ranch staff.
