Temperament: Calm and at ease around humans, although prefers to be left alone and will walk away from contact if not haltered.

Physical problems / health issues: Bobbi has poor confirmation in her rear  fetlocks and over time that has led to irritation of the soft tissues in the back legs/ankles. Her vet stated this is why her ankle is perpetually swollen and why she stands with her back feet under her. He said the leg with the swollen ankle is very straight. She also may have some irritation in her stifle. Bobbie is gaited however, her gaitedness contributes to her soreness in the rear-end by irritating the fetlocks. Her vet says she should not be ridden heavily but should be fine for light/mild riding

Interaction with horses:  Currently pastured with a gelding and another mare and is at the bottom of the hierarchy. Likes the other horses but isn’t needy about it – often grazes off away from the others.

Interaction with people:

History: Donation in lieu of law enforcement seizure. Bobbi was used as a broodmare, possibly a pleasure horse.

Training / abilities: Takes a saddle and bridle easily, but prefers the bosal over the bit. Very well broke for riding. Picks up feet easily. Halters easily. Light riding. Probably should only be ridden for an hour or so at a time.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Advanced Beginner.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other? No.

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes Tie? Yes Trailer? Yes Clip? Yes Trim Feet? Yes Bathe? Yes

Special needs

Other comments: Bobbi gave birth just a few days after moving into foster care, she allowed her foster family and other strangers around her baby and was very trusting. Her baby did not make it, he was a preemie, but she seems to have gotten over her grief.
