Horses need time to adjust when moved to new surroundings. We highly recommend you visit, spend time with the equines and evaluate the equine before making a decision"

Explain overall Health:  Danny is a handsome and well built horse.  He has a scar/indentation on his abdomen where wood fragments were removed after a pasture accident.  This is not a problem for him in any way.  He is currently recovering from an accident he had while being jumped.  His rear hoof caught his front hoof and tore part of it off.  This injury is being treated and is expected to heal without creating any permanent problems.  Danny’s teeth are good and other than his current injury, he is a healthy middle-aged horse.

Explain overall socialization: Danny is friendly to both people and other horses.  He gets along with everyone.  He is big and could intimidate a small child unintentionally because of his size.  He likes to buddy up with another horse in the pasture.  He doesn’t pick fights and gets along with both mares and geldings.  He prefers you to leave his ears unclipped, thank you.

Explain manners: Danny has very polite ground manners and is easy to handle.  He loves being groomed as long as you are careful around his face when using fly spray or a water hose.  He sometimes has to be reminded of who is in charge if a farrier takes a long time with his hooves.  He enjoys being bathed or just hosed down after exercise.

Explain overall training:  Danny has not been trained in Western Pleasure or neck reining but is exceptionally smooth under English saddle.  As a typical Thoroughbred, Danny is fast and frisky so a novice rider may find him to be too much horse for them.  An experienced rider will be pleased at his responsiveness and spunk.  He may be too old for doing eventing these days, but he has plenty of years left as a good English riding horse.

Explain history if known:  Danny is registered with the Jockey Club but has never raced.  His pedigree includes Native Dancer among other famous Thoroughbreds.  He has competed in dressage and 3-day eventing.
