Billie
Breed:
Thoroughbred
Sex: Gelding
DOB: 2001
Height:
Color: Sorrel
Markings: Star,
rear socks Location:
Comfort, TX Adoption Fee:
$500
Temperament:
Billie is a really nice,
smart horse. He can be
excitable and a bit
nervous but is also
quick to calm down. He
has been known to pace
or paw when he is in his
stall to eat. He has
spooked but recovers
quickly. He is trusting
and in the right hands
would learn to be more
confident. He has a
strong desire to please.
Physical problems /
health issues:
Billie is mostly over
his hoof problems but
the vet thinks shoes
will help cracks in his
hooves so he will be
shod soon. He came into
HfH care malnourished
but has gained weight
and is now fit.
Interaction with horses:
Billie is in a mixed
herd and gets along with
everyone. He loves to
run and play. His
friends include goats
and dogs. When he sees
other horses under
saddle he gets excited
and wants to join them.
Interaction with people:
This horse is very sweet
and loves human
interaction. He is good
with children. He will
always come to greet you
if you are in his
pasture. Billie needs
to know what is
happening around him and
always wants to be part
of the action. He needs
to be reminded that you
are the leader or else
he can get pushy while
being playful; he means
no harm. You can be his
buddy if you feed him a
treat.
History: His
owner had to move so he
was retired but his
retirement home was not
taking care of him so he
was seized and turned
over to HfH. He is
supposed to have raced
and is said to be a
descendent of
Secretariat.
Training / abilities:
Billie catches on
quickly and is willing
to learn. He is very
rideable with or without
a saddle. He has
tripped while being
ridden.

Special needs:
Billie needs a forever
home where he can bond
with a person who will
work with him on a
regular basis. He would
do well with someone who
wanted to do natural
horsemanship with him
and teach him
confidence.
Other comments:
He has an elegant run
and it is a special
treat to watch him when
he is galloping in the
pasture.
