Barb
Breed: Frame Overo Paint
Sex: Mare
DOB: 1983
Height: 15 hh
Color: Grey
Markings:
Location: Cleveland, TX
Adoption Fee: $100

Temperament: Barb is quite sweet, just a little impatient for her feed.

Physical problems / health issues: Her teeth are nearly worn out and she will not be able to eat hay in the future. Other than that, nothing but old age.

Interaction with horses: Good with all the other horses. Pushy about being fed first, but getting better. Pins her ears when any of the others look her way when she is eating.

Interaction with people: She is just a nice old mare. She had lots of sores on her face from the sun, and now loves sun cream put on her nose and around her eyes, that is if you rub very gently.

History: Hunt Co. seizure.

Training / abilities: Appears she has been a broodmare all her life. I sat on her back and she did not do anything, but it was quite obvious she has never had a bit in her mouth. I would not trust her not to buck someone off if she had the notion! Being that she is in her 20’s, according to the dentist, I think she is a companion horse. Really too late in her life to start packing someone around.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Beginner.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? I am sure she would. Trailer? Yes. Clip? Probably, but no point. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Yes.

Special needs: She will eventually need a “soup” plus her pelleted food.

Other comments: She is now very pretty since coat all grown in and face healed. She does not really look like an appy. I feel she is a paint, not a good one, but brown spotty ears and on her body. She is mostly white. Very stout and probably had great babies.
